The Game Plan:
A Woman’s Guide to Becoming a Doctor and Living a Life in Medicine

For women, a career in medicine can be very rewarding. Four of my medical school classmates and I know this to be true. Drs. Angela Walker, Diane Boykin, Jessica Osborn, Leah Matthews and I came together while attending Georgetown University School of Medicine. We each had a dream of helping others, exploring our love of science, and becoming financially stable. Of course, even with all the rewards of medicine, there are frustrations.

We wanted to write an inspirational, informative book to help guide you through a life in medicine, with its many ups and downs, from a woman’s perspective. We hope you buy a copy of The Game Plan today for a woman interested in exploring a career as a physician, or for someone supporting her journey in medicine.

For more, read the winter 2024 Georgetown Health Magazine profile of the authors, as well as this discussion of the book -- with a focus on diversity, equity and inclusion at the Georgetown University School of Medicine -- by the Georgetown University Office of Advancement.
